Butter Dosa / Davanagere Benne Dosa

Parboiled Rice 2 cup
Butter As Required
Maida 1 tbsp
Urad Dhal 1/2 cup
Puffed Rice (Pori) 100 gm
Fenugreek Seeds 1/4 tsp
Cooking Soda 2 pinches
Salt To taste

Method For Preparing Butter Dosa

  • 1.
  • Soak the rice and dhal separately in water for 8 hours. Then drain the water.

  • 2.
  • Now put the soaked rice in a grinder and grind well. Then add soaked dhal, puffed rice and maida into it and grind it to a fine paste.

  • 3.
  • Remove from grinder and add some salt into it and mix well. Keep overnight.

  • 4.
  • Add some cooking soda into the batter and mix well. Also add some water if necessary.

  • 5.
  • Now heat the tawa and grease it with little butter. Pour some batter into it and make it a thin dosa.

  • 6.
  • Now put a little butter on top of the dosa and also around the dosa. Cook it for some time.

  • 7.
  • Now flip the dosa and cook for few more minutes. Remove from fire and serve hot.
