RECIPE OF MAMBAZHA PULISSERY

Small ripe mango (peeled) 3
Red chili powder 1/4 tsp
Yogurt 1.5 cups
Green chilies 3
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Water As Required
Salt As Required
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Grated coconut 1/2 cup

FOR TEMPERING

Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Dry red chilies 3
Curryleaves 2 sprigs
Coconut oil As Required

Method For Preparing Mambazha Pulissery

  • 1.
  • Whip yogurt and salt in a bowl.

  • 2.
  • Form a smooth paste using coconut, cumin seeds and water and keep aside.

  • 3.
  • Combine mango,green chilies,red chili powder,turmeric powder and water in a pan and cook until it turns soft.

  • 4.
  • Now add the coconut paste into it and cook in a medium flame for some time.

  • 5.
  • Remove from fire and add yogurt into it slowly. Stir well. Also add enough salt.

  • 6.
  • Heat oil in another pan and add cumin seed. Also add some fenugreek seeds and saute for few seconds.

  • 7.
  • Saute again after adding curry leaves and dry red chilies. Add this to the prepared curry and mix well.

  • 8.
  • Serve as a sidedish with rice.
