RECIPE OF PARUPPU VADA

Chana dal 1 1/2 cup
Green chilies 5
Small red onion 6
Ginger Paste 1 tsp
Curry leaves Few
Salt To Taste
Oil To Fry
Asafoetida A Pinch

Method For Preparing Paruppu Vada

  • 1.
  • Put the chana dal in water for 6 hours. Drain it. Take 3/4th of it and grind it to a fine paste using some water.

  • 2.
  • Take half of the remaining and grind coarsely. Mix all.

  • 3.
  • Cut the onions , green chillies and curry leaves into small pieces. Add ginger paste, sprinkle asafoetida , add salt and mix all.

  • 4.
  • Take this mixture and mix with the chana dal. Keep aside with 10-15 minutes.

  • 5.
  • Make medium sized patties of the dal mixture and deep fry it in a pan.
