Method For Preparing Unnakaya

  • 1.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts into it. Fry until it becomes golden colour.

  • 2.
  • Now add the grated coconut and saute again. Also add some sugar and cardamom powder and keep aside.

  • 3.
  • Steam the plantain until it gets soft. Then allow it to cool for few minutes. Mash it.

  • 4.
  • Dip your hands in ghee and take some plantain on your hand and flatten it using your fingers.

  • 5.
  • Place some coconut filling in the middle and seal the edges. Make it into a cylindrical shape.

  • 6.
  • Fry the stuffed plantain in a pan till all the sides become golden brown. Serve hot
