RECIPE OF VERMICELLI UPPUMA

Shredded cabbage 1/2 Cup

Oil 4 tbsp
Lemon 1
Tomatoes, chopped 2

FOR SEASONING

Bengal gram dal 1 tbsp
Black gram dal 1 tbsp
Broken cashew nut 1 tbsp
Curry leaves Few

FOR GARNISHING

Coriander leaves, chopped 1 tbsp
Grated coconut 1 tbsp
Black gram dal 2 tbsp

Method For Preparing Vermicelli-Uppuma

  • 1.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and roast vermicelli in the ghee till golden brown.

  • 2.
  • In another broad vessel heat 10 cups water with a tsp of oil and little salt.

  • 3.
  • Drain off water and pour some more cold water and drain well.

  • 4.
  • Place a big pan on the fire.

  • 5.
  • Pour oil and add green chillies, onions and other chopped vegetables and fry in a medium flame till vegetables are tender.

  • 6.
  • Add tomatoes at the end and fry till it becomes soft.

  • 7.
  • Add the cooked vermicelli with salt and turmeric powder.

  • 8.
  • Fry in the medium flame.

  • 9.
  • Squeeze lemon and add to it

  • 10.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut.
